Crazy Things Parents Do to their Babies

Parents do crazy things sometimes. Like when they think their 3-month old baby's hair is falling out and they go to a barber - an adult barber, mind you - to shave ALL his hair off and subject him to the whatchamacall razor thing. It's been seven months, so I have finally gotten over it and only now do I feel ready to talk about what happened that day.
So there I was, thinking what a nice day to take a stroll down to Jurong Point when Mama and Bibik Idah and I entered this nice bright place with lots of mirrors.
Many nice men were also smiling at me and of course - like any polite baby would - I smiled back.
Then, one of them started touching my head and soon got going. I was thinkin', hey, what's goin' on here (that's the middle picture for those who are keeping up with this photo diary), but it was too late when I looked in the mirror cos it was all gone!

I was not the happiest camper to say the least. My head itched like goodness-knows-what, and what was worse was they had my hands in mittens and I couldn't scratch my melon!!
But you know what? I think I look better today because of what
happened that day. So thanks Mama, Abah and I appreciate it even though that's one heck of a crazy thing that you as a parent did to your baby.

Selamat Hari Raya!

Selamat Hari Raya! This is my first ever Raya! It was fun, though it didn't look like it at first when I had to squeeze into this red baju kurung that Abah and Mama bought for me from Geylang.
It was a breeze from then, and I met my cuzzins and aunts and uncles and of course both sets of gramps - whom I had the obligatory photo-taking with. Check out my three teeth - two below and one on top. I know of other kids who are older than me who've got none! Ha! But my bibik says babies who have teeth earlier will walk much later. Whatever!

Anyway, during Hari Raya, I knocked out for a while when we were traveling from Clementi to Yishun, but otherwise I was up all day. And man, it was quite tiring - not something babies would do very often, if you know what I mean. People also insist on giving me these little envelopes. Strange! I just put them in my mouth as what I do with almost every other thing you give me. I also heard that we're going round Singapore a bit this year visiting relatives. Cos Mama was pregnant with me last year and they couldn't go nowhere, we have to make it up this year. More little envelopes, I guess. Enjoy the pics!

Pictures I Love

Abah says he loves the pictures he took of me and Mama while we were at the Austin Hills Resort. There's just something in my eyes- he says - while Mama cuddles me. It was a nice cool morning and the sun was just comin' up over the horizon. Anyway, the one Mama took of me and Abah's not bad too.

Nowadays Abah keeps going - "How'dya get so cute! Howd'ya get so cute!" at me. Frankly I don't know, you know. And he loves to tickle me and then smother me with kisses. As if I don't get that from Atok and Nenek and Yai and Nyai and my aunties. Sheesh ...

People Around Me

Abah discovers that his new roommate has a baby who's just over a week older than me. I've also got a buddy - Elliot - who is exactly a week older than me. Elliot's mum, Auntie Debbie and my mum are very good friends and went back to the same secondary school - RGS - from way back then. We met a couple of months ago at Jurong Point and took some pictures. Here they are! Elliot actually flew all the way from Florida (that's in the States) to Singapore when he was really tiny cos that was where he was born.

More pictures

This is me and abah just chillin' in the pool with my cuzzins. We had fun at the Pasir Ris bungalow where I swam - don't bust my chops about my bald spot there on my head - I've got a full head of hair now!

The other picture is me in the middle of it all with everyone - the gang, and my great grandma and also Nenek Ima who works in a hospital. Cool!

When cousins from UK came

This is my sweet cuzzin Isabel - she loved huggin' me when she was here! I was wearing the T-shirt they got me from London.

Abah's been such a slacker

When I looked at the last time I blogged, it was when I was six months old. Six months old! I am almost ten months old now and it just shows how much abah's been a slacker. He's helping me to type and he hasn't been typing much - as you can tell.

I have had so many things happen to me since. I turned seven months, and the turned eight months, and then nine - you get what I mean. But things have been interesting too. Cousins from England came, as will my cousins from Australia (next month) and heaps.

I think I'll just load up some pictures for everyone to see - especially Bibik Mob, Uncle Les and Imran , Nadya and Aisha.
